تقع بلدة صلنفة في محافظة اللاذقية، على ارتفاع يقارب 1130 متراً فوق سطح البحر. يُقال إن اسمها الأصلي "أصلان فيء" بمعنى "غنيمة السباع"، نسبة إلى ملوك أوغاريت القدامى الذين كانوا يصطادون السباع في هذه الجبال.
The town of Slanfeh lies in Latakia Governorate at an elevation of about 1,130 meters above sea level. Its original name "Aslan Fay" meaning "Treasure of the Lions" refers to the ancient Ugaritic kings who hunted lions in these mountains.
تأسست صلنفة كمصيف رسمي عام 1929 خلال فترة الانتداب الفرنسي، حين وقع اختيار الضباط الفرنسيين على هذه الهضبة الجبلية المطلة على البحر المتوسط لتكون ملاذهم الصيفي. بُنيت المدينة من حجارة مقالع قرية عرامو البيضاء الصلبة.
Slanfeh was established as an official summer resort in 1929 during the French Mandate, when French officers chose this elevated plateau overlooking the Mediterranean as their summer retreat. It was built from the solid white stones of Aramou village quarries.
